“Fast Hands and Glare in Eyes”
The Canadian Uechi-ryu Karate Association is a regulated non-profit under the Canada Not-For-Profit Corporations Act, with the purpose of promoting and developing both traditional and sport Uechi-ryu karate at the national level in Canada, developing international competitive athletes and promoting safe sport from grassroots organizations to elite level competition.

PROGRAMS

NATIONAL TEAM TRAINING
There has never before been a truly National Uechi-ryu Team. We are very excited to offer a national level training program for elite level athletes and those aspiring to reach international level competition. Training opportunities will be in place at various times throughout the year.
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
Train as a Team and compete as a Team. Once a Canadian national Team is developed, international competitions will be sought for attendance. The best open or style specific events will be the target.
CURKA DAN TESTING
The Canadian Uechi-ryu Karate Association will conduct Dan testing several times per year. A switch to video testing is possible when circumstances fit. CURKA recognizes style variations based on the students' lineage. This is adjusted for by the test board. Keeping in mind the sporting nature of the association, both WKF and full contact sparring are acceptable testing elements.
